2024 Muster Update

The overwhelming success of the 2023 Clarence Valley Country Muster Christmas in July has ensured it will go ahead in 2024 – and it’s sure to be twice the fun!

Organisers Wendy Gordon and Kross Kut Records boss Lindsay (“Waddo”) Waddington have expanded the two-day format to four, from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28 on Wendy’s property, 11 Coulters Lane, Ulmarra, near Grafton.

Your comperes for the main stage entertainment from Friday at 11am are two blokes never short of a word or two – Terry Gordon OAM and Ken “Chainsaw” Lindsay.

There could be a few nerves on the main stage from 10.30am on Thursday as aspiring artists take their turn at the microphone, with John Lloyd hosting walk-ups, all acts vying for gig at next July’s event.

Warm up those vocal cords nice and early each day as from Friday it’s a 7am start through to Sunday, concluding at 10.30am. With changeover comes Friday’s official opening at 11am as Terry Gordon OAM takes centre stage, followed by Bev Branson and Chainsaw bringing you through until lunch.

Have an hours break from 12.30pm and make your selections from the food and coffee vans onsite. Jamie Davis begins the afternoon’s entertainment at 1.30pm, followed by last year’s walk-up winner, John Lynch.

Make sure you’re ready for the 2.30pm timeslot when Waddo cuts loose. You never know what this talented entertainer and comedian has in store for unsuspecting audiences. Be alert, not alarmed.

Up-and-coming artist Jack Watson restores a little order and will bring in plenty of passion at 3pm, then an hour later you’re in for a treat! The little pocket rocket herself, Melissa Bajric, will entertain you from 4pm.

As you mosey on down to your campsite, prepare to be visited by some wandering minstrels who could drop by for a song or two. Being the gracious hostess she is, Wendy will provide fire pits and wood for guests’ use.

Saturday’s main stage entertainment starts at 11am with John Lynch, followed by Bev, TG, Melissa, and Chainsaw up until lunch. Hold onto your hats, folks, because the afternoon’s lineup is a cracker.

TG kicks off the show followed by Melissa and for two glorious hours from 3pm, it’s the man himself – Australia’s king of country rock’n’roll Jade Hurley!

Jamie Davis will then play you through until dinner. For those keen to use a little imagination and decorate their van and campsite, it’s well worth the effort. There are prizes for the winner. The big announcement is at 6.30pm.

Sunday is a cavalcade of the stars with the finale from 11am to 2pm featuring some extra special guests. Nanango singer and guitar slinger Paul Ricketts, inaugural winner of the Thornton/Young Award will appear as part of his prize package from sponsor Kross Kut Records.

Another guest artist who’s sure to brighten your day is Nay McAlpin, winner of the Christmas in July 2023 walk-up event. One of the finest guitarists and entertainers around, Avon Kilcullen will provide exceptional backing, showcasing his extraordinary talents.

Gates open for early arrival at the muster site on Tuesday, July 23. For just $120 per person, you can enjoy a full week of camping, camaraderie, and entertainment at one of the best value-for-money festivals around. Check-out is Tuesday, July 30.

Bookings are coming in thick and fast, so don’t miss your chance to get back to the beautiful Clarence Valley for one of the best micro-festivals around! If last year’s is anything to go by, you can bet your cowboy boots Wendy will have the site looking like a winter wonderland.
